Assessor Department

Gilliam County Assessor is an elective position directly responsible to the voters of Gilliam County for the administration of and collection of property taxes.  Property taxes fund local taxing districts that provide services to county residents.  The Assessor's Office provides the following services under the guidance of state and federal law:

  • Location of Property
  • Property ownership history
  • Real Market and Assessed Value
  • Appraisal inventory
  • Property sales data
  • Special Assessment Programs
  • Property tax exemption programs
  • Tax deferral programs
  • Assessor plat map and GIS maps
  • County homestead rebate program 
  • All forms dealing with taxes
  • Collection of property taxes

 

Oregon Map
The 1999 Oregon Legislature provided funding for
ORMAP (the Oregon Map) through a document-recording fee collected by the counties. This money is put into the ORMAP fund, separate from the state General Fund, to be used only for the development of the Oregon Map.
