Part Time Driver

Gilliam County Transportation is accepting applications to fill two part time (19 hours weekly .5FTE) Public Transportation Driver positions.  These positions are non-represented, non-exempt.

The position requires applicants to safely operate vehicles and buses in populated cities (Portland/Bend) as needed.  Applicants must be confident driving vehicles in adverse road and weather conditions as well as after dark. 

Drivers will need to be able to physically assist passengers including the securement of mobility devices.  These mobility devices and passenger may weigh 300-600 pounds and driver must be able to push/pull and bend down to secure the mobility devices. 

Successful applicants will be providing scheduled rides with possibility of occasional extended days requiring adaptability and willingness to embrace change.  Flexibility is a key attribute in supporting the innovative program development of the designated routes.  Drivers may be asked to perform other duties as needed if trips are not available.  

Teamwork and cooperation are required as daily schedules can change with little to no notice and communication with dispatch is crucial for the success of the operation. 

Required mandatory training and certifications will be provided upon hiring.  Preferred starting location for the positions will be one in both Arlington and in Condon.
